Ethics and Social Responsibility Group

The ecological and socio-economic circumstances of today’s world have driven us to elaborate new means of understanding finance so that it may act as a tool for change and an opportunity to turn profit, that is, to generate a surplus in alignment with collectively established rules. Society’s heightened awareness of sustainable development issues has encouraged -companies to turn increasingly to rating agencies with a view to improving their images in this respect. Although not perfect, the recent incorporation of SRI into investment decision-making does emphasize the current trend within civil society to hold companies accountable to the community. The Ethic and Social Responsibility committee aims to promote the values necessary for creating a better world, one in which economics and finance occupy a different role within an outlook geared towards sustainable development and ethics, so as to contribute to collective welfare and to discussion surrounding what this should entail.
